Swinley Forest


From the car park take the main gate past the "go ape" playground. Keep going straight along the main fire trail until you reach the end of this track, Don't take the first right but cross the small ditch (or do a left then right) and follow the large track heading off and up to the right. After a short distance you will see a track heading off to the right through the trees. Follow this.

The track climbs slightly before following left around the side of a small hill, follow the left climbing gradually and then follow the path round to the right.
Follow this track until you reach a large intersection with several major routes meeting. Directly across from this is a section of the start of some single track.
Follow this.
This route continues for a fair while and crosses several major routes, it will take you all the way to the Expert area.

One fun detour on the route is this:

When you reach the third intersection you will be at the top of a hill with a major fire trail heading off to the right and slightly down hill.

Follow this until it starts to climb again, looking for a smaller (but still wide) track going off to the right. Follow this and keep an eye out for small tracks going left. This leads into a series of sweeping burms that spit you out on the main track. You can get also to this spot by taking the right on the second fire trail crossing, but I prefer the missed section.

As mentioned the trail leads to the expert section, spitting you out with a good view of the jump area, run this as many times as you fancy or not at all if your humiliated by 12 year olds pulling huge air.
